Madagascar is unique. It boasts an array of animals and plants found nowhere else in the world. It is the fourth largest island (after Greenland, New Guinea and Borneo) in the world.

Its different regions have very different climates - from lush rain forests in the east, deciduous woods in the hot western plains to the spiny semi-desert in the south.

It is the place to go for the wildlife enthusiast! Madagascar has 101 species of Lemur, many of which can be seen at very close range making it a paradise for wildlife photography. Madagascar has 284 species of birds. The birdlife is stunning with the birding season from September through to the end of November which coincides with nesting season. Madagascar also has a gorgeous variety of orchids to admire.

Madagascar is working hard to conserve its endemic species, many of which are threatened with extinction.

The people of Madagascar are quiet and gentle and eager to speak to you in English. You will be provided with English speaking, non-smoking guides and drivers who are proud to help you understand all you need to know about their beautiful country.
